the sky has just turned black in one corner and large streaks of lightning are reaching for the ground...which sucks in its belly in this part of the country. lightning is my favorite thing about the midwest. ive just finished moving into a(nother) apartment. it's new, second floor, good view of the infertile horizon, a gas station and the only highway out of here. only three more months until i will finally do what i have been threatening to all along, move home to new england.

anyway i am back on a regular sort of schedule in which all of my time is my own <3 i have some lovely shoes to finish up painting and some lovely paintings to finish up painting.

my birthday is in 13 days! i will be 25 years old. one more year of not acting my age ever <3 i am looking forward to it! im not the type of person who has ever worried about what i was doing with my life at any particular time. i never had a plan...where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 25?
when i was little this is easy to answer. today i have no idea how to answer it, and i like it that way <3

EDIT: i know i know...i was doing so well and then youre wondering what happened to me? the influenza happened, all of it at once. i havent had it since fourth grade so it's been adding up and multiplying to get into my system. it simultaneously blessed me with a plague of migraines. and this is about all i can stand to look at the computer screen or any screen for probably the next week. please hang people from your window sill for good weather in my head.

okay spring break is over and i apologize i didnt catch up with everybody but i will...i have left, the month of april, to my left, and to my right, the disintigration of free time. YES! it is logical but it doesnt make any sense. knowing that i behave as though i am spoiled. <3 so cheers! to the month of may!

What do you want to do with your art?
I want to create rich worlds and characters full of texture . I want people to walk away from my art "I'm glad I saw that!"

What does being an artist mean to you?
The constant innovation, continually striving for something better, but not always getting there. Then picking yourself up and keep working to make yourself stronger skill and a better person.

Has any woman inspired you artistically or personally? Who?
My mom for sure. Although I am not quiet like her, and she isn't as strong artistically, her work for a given community inspires me to help and work with communities I am involved in. The sense of building a strong community, whether in person or online, makes for better places to interact and live.

Who are some of your favorite dA artists?
